Want to learn more about our local lakes?

Living at the Lakes is a free program offered to all Polk County residents to share information on our valuable lake ecosystems. Join us for a two-hour class to learn more about improved lakefront landscaping, reducing your impact on lake water quality, and the wildlife who enjoy our lakes. Included with the class: a wetland wildlife tram tour.

When: 5:30-7:30 PM on any of the following dates: March 30, April 20, or May 18.

CLEAN UP YOUR FAVORITE LAKE DURING LAKES APPRECIATION MONTH

July is Lakes Appreciation Month! The Lakes Education/Action Drive (LE/AD), a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide environmental and water resource education to citizens around Polk County, invites you to pick a lake and a time in July to clean up your favorite lake. Get involved in the Lakes Appreciation Celebration simply by filling out the registration form available on our website www.lakeseducation.org and sending it to lakeseducation@hotmail.com.
